THE NORTH OF PERU

TRUJILLO ( 2 DAYS, 1 NIGHT )

Trujillo = Parties, dances, beaches, the warm weather and clear image..

There are two very important events, famous in the world:

* The National Competition of coast dance: "marinera"
* The International Spring Festival.

1st day:

In the morning we make the city tour: by the big colonial houses, churches, squares and monuments.

Lunch in a town restaurant ( colorful dishes with sea food and fishes ).

In the afternoon: Huanchaco, a short old unknonw port ( some minutes from the city to the north ) in which people continue practicing pre-inca coast traditional activities ( For example: "The totora small horses", a sort of short boats in thin bamboo. Nowadays, Huanchaco is a nice group of sweet beaches and waves..

2nd day:

The archaelogical places and elements : Close to Moche valley there are thousands pre-inca remains .  The main one: Chan Chan, the biggest religious and administratif city made in clay, belonged to "Chimú" culture.

    

The great pyramids and urban complex ( full of pre-inca buildings : "Huacas" ( del Sol y de la Luna ) belonging to  Mochica culture( IIth-VIth centuries after J. ).  

 



Chiclayo ( 2 days / 1 nights )

1er days

It's a modern and commercial city to visit its sweet beaches and surrounding neighborhoods like Ferreñafe city with the Historic sanctuaries, nature and museum, and Chongoyape ( Natural Reserve ).  There is the opportunity of visiting a good restaurant of sea food or valley food.  It's optional to visit the site of Sir of Sipán, or the remains Chornacap.  Free afternoon.

We visit Lambayeque city ( at 15 minutes ), in order to visit the most important museums of the region: Sir of Sipan, one of the most magnific bosses of Mochica, found in a very organized and luxury way with a lot of jewels and other human or architecture elements; and "Bruning" museum, with a great number of precious objets and others from the region.

Lunch in Lambayeque ( Sea food or coastal dishes ).

Visit in Túcume: a small tropical valley and town full of clay pyramides and remains.  All were from: Chimus, Mochicas and Incas.  There are site museums with that remains and we will be in front of the complex and pyramids.

     

The special option:  Tour to Kuelap ( 4 more days ) towards the high forest , a pre-inca town from Chachapoyas culture ( IXth - XIth centuries ) at 3000 - 9840 feet a s l .  It's surrounded by big walls, its territory occupies 0.6 square kms.; and the way is descending from 3065 - 10053 feet until 700 - 2296 feet a s l, for ascending up to 2150 m- 7052 feet.

The price includs :

   Guide, all transportation, all entry fees, accommodations, breakfasts and lunches.

 

Piura
 03 days / 02 nights

It was the first city founded in the colonial time with the following name: " San Miguel de Piura", in 1532.

Colonial churches, extended art colections, large handcrafts markets like Catacaos (at some kilometers from the town).  Piura is also famous by its restaurants, some of the most typical of Peru ( picanterías ) and with a variety of sea food dishes.


1st day : Piura

Reception, transfer. City tour ( churches and monuments with the possibility of visiting an archaeologic museum ) and Catacaos or some beaches ( Paita port ).

 2nd day : Chulucanas

The handcrafts Chulucanas town where we can visit workshops ( at 60 Km from Piura ) and taste a good variery of fruits.


3rd day : Transfer. 

The price includes:


Transportation, accommodation, all entry fees, guide.  Not meals.
 

Tumbes : the north extreme, close to Equator ( 3 days / 2 nights )

"This region is where the jungle is next to the coast"

1st day: Reception et transfer to the beach hotel : we fun there.

2nd day: Tour by the rich mangroves or the Natural park, both full of a great variety of flora, animals and natural beauties.

3e jour: Departure.

 

Recommendations for the previous tours : 

Sun protection ( cream, glasses...), beach affairs , some of water for long laps, confortable shoes, camera and repellent of insects.

It's recommendable for all these tours : change , in order to buy little things.

Cajamarca and Kuelap ( 5 days and 4 nights )

The most important are the Archeaology and nature .  In some cases It's named: New Cuzco.  It's possible to visit :

1st day: The cathedral,  Belen complex, Saint Francisco, the "rescue room", ( where, the last Inca called Atahualpa, was in prison talking about getting 3 rooms with gold and silver ). 

2nd day: Visit of the pre-colonial 3000 years old remains of Cumbemayo ( forest park and aqueduct ) and the "baths of Inca" ( volcanic water pools  ).

3rd day:  ventanillas of Otuzco ( pre-inca remains, pure nature and typical points ).

4th day:  Towards the high forest to Kuélap town from Chachapoyas culture ( in the following 2 days ), that is at 3000 m - 9840 feet a s l and surrounded by big walls ( IXth - XIth centuries, before Incas ).  All the complex is 0,6 square km.

*We begin this tour from Chiclayo and at the end: return the same way.

*It's possible to take 2 days more in a vivencial and ecological journeys, since the 2nd and 3rd days respectively.

Recommendations  :
